The world famous Sukhothai Historical Park, Thailand
This immaculately restored park, officially opened in July 1988, is set among leafy hills and peaceful lotus ponds, lying some 7.5 miles from present day Sukhothai town. Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park comprises the ruins of palace, temples, and historical monuments, including the famed Royal Palace and Wat Mahathat.
Thousands of visitors come to Sukhothai Historical Park each year to admire the ancient Buddha figures, old palace buildings and ruined Buddhist temples.
Another famous attraction in Sukhothai is the Si Satchanalai Historical Park.
