Phuket’s Big Buddha or Prahputtamingmongkol Eaknakakeeree, is one of the island’s most important and revered landmarks. The enormous Big White Buddha sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata, and being 45 meters high it can be seen from miles away.
Funds for the huge structure are coming entirely from donations and you can even buy tiles that become part of the Buddha.
The Buddha is still under construction.
